Nestled in the foothills of Kilimanjaro, hidden beneath a copse of giant acacia trees and beside a gently flowing natural spring lies Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. With Kilimanjaro’s 6,000-meter-high snow-capped peaks rising behind the lodge and presiding over the landscape, which boasts more big game than almost anywhere else in Africa, the setting is nothing short of magnificent.
Inspired by local Masai architecture, the design of the lodge is in total harmony with the environment. Each guest room conveys a distinctive Masai Manyatta mood and is furnished with authentic African murals painted by a local artist.
The lodge has 96 beautifully appointed rooms and a swimming pool filled with fresh water from a spring flowing from Mount Kilimanjaro. Activities on offer include game drives three times a day, sundowners on Observation Hill, traditional feasts and tribal dancing overlooking a waterhole where big game gather, musical evenings and visits to the traditional manyattas of the Amboseli Masai.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: NAIROBI/AMBOSELI
After breakfast we will pick you from your Nairobi hotel.Thereafter depart for Amboseli national park a jewel tucked right under the skirts of Kilimanjaro arriving in time for an afternoon game drive via Namanga border town for lunch.Dinner and overnight at AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE.
DAY 2: AMBOSELI
After breakfast proceed for a game drive where a garden of Eden full of elephant, buffalo, gazelle, and egrets and a host of other animals enjoy a peaceful wallow together.Have lunch at AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE then end with an evening game drive, where you will appreciate the abundance of birdlife, visitors will see flocks of a yellow weaverbird with a patch of chest nut on the nape.Dinner and overnight at AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE.
DAY 3: AMBOSELI/NAIROBI
Early morning game drive where elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Masaai giraffe and buffalo may all be encountered during a single morning game drive.After a late breakfast depart Amboseli for Nairobi with lunch enroute, arriving in the early evening Jomo Kenyatta National Airport where our services end.
