The giraffe manor is situated on 140 acres of land a few kilometres outside Nairobi in Karen. In 1974 Jock Leslie-Melvin and his wife Betty bought the land and moved five baby endangered Rothschild Giraffes onto the property where they successfully reared them. The original giraffes have subsequently had their offspring that now live on the property.
As well as the giraffe, the property is also home to many species of birds, large families of warthogs and the elusive Bush Buck.
There are six fully furnished luxurious bedrooms at The Giraffe Manor, each with its own bathroom.
The Master and Giraffe Room together make for excellent family accommodation.
The Karen Blixen Suite is larger and contains one double bed and two single beds, which are chargeable at half the standard rate if occupied.
Note: We also offer East Africa Safaris, in case you would like us to assist you plan a safari, indicate this with your hotel booking enquiry |
